Night had fallen and the group had stopped so that Keu'deh could sleep. Aniphia had offered to take first watch so that the boys could spend time together without being interrupted, though their conversation was on a less than romantic subject, as they were discussing Keu'deh's scars, or lack thereof.
"So they would heal you?"
"Yeah..." Keu'deh was snuggled into Yido's lap, who was leaning against a tree. "A scarred slaved doesn't sell as well, especially slaves like me..." Yido's hands tightened on his arms, cutting him off.
"You aren't a slave anymore." His voice was firm and Keu'deh was quite for a few moments.
"......... These had already scarred when you healed me..." Yido sighed and interrupted Keu'deh again.
"Keu'deh... I mean it. You're free, you could leave if you wanted." Keu'deh tilted his head away, studying the ground beneath their legs.
"I don't." Yido smiled gently.
"I'm glad." Keu'deh chuckled low in his throat.
"... I mean, I've got this great chair..." He shifted a little, emphasizing his playful turn of mood, making Yido laugh.
"Heh. So happy to be of service." Keu'deh pressed his back into Yido's chest.
"It's not the softest, mind you..." Yido hugged Keu'deh to him.
"I'm going to make you sleep on the ground." Keu'deh giggled and snuggled into Yido's chest, making a liar out of him by falling asleep there against him.
