Keu'deh slowed down once he was away from the curious eyes of the high elves, Yido and Aniphia were hurrying to catch up to him and he felt guilty that they were leaving their home so quickly because of him.

"Keu'deh! Wait!" Yido's shout stopped him in his tracks, his voice was calm and held no resentment, which made Keu'deh more than a little curious. "Who-" Keu'deh cut him off with a loud sigh and didn't bother turning to face them. He was pretty sure if he looked at their faces while he spoke, he'd end up saying more than he wanted to, and wanted to get this over with as fast as possible and go back to pretending it didn't hurt.

"In the interest of never bringing this up again, his mother bought me as an outlet for him." He kept his voice flat, almost dead, his eyes fixed on a rock not far from his feet. "After a few years she sold me and he never said a word. Had I known how he felt, if he'd ever told me, I wouldn't have begged my last master to take me to the surface. Had I known he'd die following me, I might have returned to his family after the dwarf died." He fell silent and they waited. There was more, but he'd just remembered that they didn't know what Kaho had said, or what he'd said in return and he didn't feel like voicing his feelings again. It would only hurt more if he did, and he figured they didn't need him to spell it out for them.

"Okay?" He tried to put as much of his desire for the conversation to end as possible into the one word. Yido nodded slowly.

"Okay..." He let it hang in the air as a possible question, hoping it would encourage Keu'deh to keep talking, bu Aniphia just stared at him sadly. Nothing she could say would bring his lover back...
