Aniphia and Yido turned onto a largely abandoned street lined with storehouses. They'd found a woman who had thought she remembered seeing a small Drow in that area, but she hadn't been sure. They headed towards a man standing in the middle of the street, a loose collection of guards behind him, their attention focused further down the road. As they approached, the human lifted his hand to stop them, addressing them in Common.
<"I have to stop you citizen. A wolf got into the city, but we are taking care of it."> Yido's ears flipped up curiously and his peered over the man's shoulder with interest.
<"A wolf?"> An odd thing to come across in a walled city... <"How..."> His breath stopped as he caught sight of the wolf in question, recognition flooding him.
"KEU'DEH!!" His shout was in Dwarven, not meant for the human he tried to push past, making him grunt with the effort of stopping Yido. Aniphia dropped her staff as her hands flew up to her mouth, finally managing to see what Yido had.
"...no!" Keu'deh was snarling darkly at the guardsmen facing him, his ears flattened against his skull and his hackles bristling. A pair of arrows stuck in his side at odd angles, the wounds bleeding sluggishly into his fur. There was a woman behind him, and though it looked as if she'd fallen next to the building behind her, it didn't look like Keu'deh had attacked anyone yet, but he also wasn't backing down, his maddening fury making him stubbornly hold his ground. Aniphia's eyes narrowed, she wasn't sure how this situation had come about, but she knew she wasn't about to let them shoot him again and one of the guards had just pulled another arrow from his quiver. She ducked and grabbed her staff, sprinting past the man wrestling with Yido, his shout of protest flatly ignored.
