Keu'deh settled against a pile of bedding in a corner of Iya's room, the calmed toddler dozing contentedly on his chest. He stared at her for a few moments before he started talking, sensing somehow he was using the language that he shared with her and her mother, the language of the druids.
"I don't understand. It's not like she likes me the way he does, she told me she thinks of me like a little brother. And it's not like he was forcing himself on me, though that's probably what she decided happened. Neither one of them ever thinks to ask first..." He fell silent for a short time, musing to himself, if anyone had forced the other, he had forced Yido... His thoughts shifted and he started talking again. "And what's worse is now I don't know who I'm supposed to sleep with. I sleep with Aniphia to keep the nightmares away, but Yido will probably expect me to sleep with him so that we can... well... you're too young to hear stuff like that. Not that I'm one to talk. I still sleep... I'm not supposed to know what I do..." He paused again, the knowledge of how the High Elves viewed his age and how they treated him because of it raising dozens of questions in his mind, many involving Yido.
"What do you think, Iya?" He sighed softly and addressed the toddler sleeping on his chest once more, not expecting an answer. Iya shifted slightly and yawned in her sleep, mumbling in her dream.
"mmnnhh... puppy..." She fell silent, sleeping easily and he smiled slightly, carefully shifting his position so that he could lay back on the bedding pile.
"Good plan, let them figure it out. I didn't want to wake you up anyway."
