Aniphia and Yido waved to each other as Keu'deh walked cheerfully behind the half elf, the little girl riding happily on his shoulders and babbling nonsense. Aniphia caught up to the half elf as they passed the town's walls and smiled at the houses lined neatly along the roads.

/" 'Improve racial relations?' "\ The half elf laughed, referring to Yido's reason for wanting to stay behind with the guard.

/"I think he was being coy..."\ Aniphia grinned.

/"Trying anyway..."\ She waved to a person passing by who stared at Keu'deh curiously, the little girl patting his head and singing to herself. /"Well... My husband does like elves..."\ She snickered, layering as much innuendo as she could on her words, making Aniphia laugh.

Their assumption as to Yido's motives were off though, back at the gate the guard faced the suddenly depressed Yido and frowned slightly.

/"You hit him, didn't you?"\ Yido's miserable expression was answer enough, but he spoke anyway, pointing at his face for emphasis.

/"Right in the nose, I feel really bad about it. I want to buy him something."\ The guard stared at him for a long time, it was the kind of gesture you did for someone you were attached to...

/"He could use new clothes..."\ He offered at last. /"We have a tailor in town..."\ Yido's sudden smile confirmed his choice to be a good one.
