Ty'lani shifted slightly and handed the box in her lap to Keu'deh.
"This is for you." She toyed with her earring as she spoke. "I'm sorry I didn't get it for you when you asked for it." Keu'deh took the box curiously, lifting the lid slightly to look inside.
"I was less than pleased to find you gone. Finding out why didn't help." Keu'deh stared at the box's contents in shock.
"...This is..." Words failed him as Ty'lani clasped her hands in front of her, obviously pleased with herself.
"The look on her face suggested it came as a great surprise to her." Keu'deh was silent, staring at the carefully preserved chunk of meat in the box, a rusting shard of metal driven through it. His mind worked slowly, mulling the situation over. He had asked for this, he'd just never expected Ty'lani to actually fulfill his request, and now that she had he wasn't sure what to say to her. Part of him realized that this was probably what Ty'lani thought would be the best way to apologize to him and attempt to right the wrong her mother had done him.
"Thank you." She smiled brightly, her body betraying her relief in his acceptance.
"Anything for you, my sweet." He smiled at her calmly.
"Now seriously, go home." The sooner she was gone, the sooner he could throw the box in a fire.
