"My own slave? Oh thank you mother!" The girl's voice was even lighter than her mother's, pushing the darkness surrounding his mind aside. She leaned towards him, examining his face excitedly while her mother pushed him forward.
"You'll have to train him." She clasped her hands in front of her, trying to keep her eagerness to touch her new pet down until her mother was away.
"Don't worry, I will!" She took his hand as her mother left them with a firm warning that he was to obey her daughter without question. He followed her numbly as she led him off, chatting idly with him about how pleased she was to own him and what a good mistress she would be for him. She fitted him with a collar and a matching leash and grinned at him, leaning in close to him and lowering her voice slightly, giving him a conspiratorial wink.
"I am Ty'lani. Is there anything you want before we begin?" He flattened his ears back and glared at her, a sudden flare of anger cutting through him.
"Pierce my ears to match my mother's." He didn't so much ask her as demand it of her. She smiled though, she seemed to enjoy his daring. A flash of light cut the darkness, whispering his name, drowned out by her response.
"Simple enough. Anything else?"
"Your mother's heart. On a spike." the deadly rage in his voice made her step away from him, regarding him in surprise. "That's simple, right?" The light broke into the darkness once more, blurring his vision, leaving him with the sight of Ty'lani's confused and worried face.
"keu'deh?" The darkness faded away completely. Just a dream...
"Sunshine?" Aniphia was trying to wake him and he murmured to let her know he was coming around.
"He's still sleeping?" Yido's soft laugh added itself to his mind, they must be ready to move on again.
