He placed his hands over hers, holding one over his heart, and his ears flicked up as he tried to make her understand what he wanted to say.

"Thank you. Please understand." She stopped talking and smiled at him, maybe she understood, maybe not, but she pulled her hands away and stood up, pulling his attention to the pile of clothing she'd left in his lap.

"Oh, you fixed my clothes..." He ran his hand over the rough patches she'd sewn on, he'd look like the dolls farmers hung in the fields, but he had to admit she did a better job than he would have, he'd have to thank her again. He turned to find her at the door, opening it to leave.

"Hey, wait... Where..." He wasn't sure if she'd heard him before she closed the door, but his ears dropped knowing she'd left him alone in a place he knew nothing about...
